The subject of my art is most often one or several persons, without ever becoming a portrait. In fact, one seldom sees the face but it is through certain gestures or poses that these persons are ‘portrayed’. Sometimes the paintings show no one at all, but traces of human presence, either through objects or in a landscape. My drawings from the nude are an exercise in looking.

In mijn werk gaat het om het contact tussen mensen, soms innig, zoals tussen twee broers uit Berlijn-Oost en –West, soms formeel, zoals tussen twee regeringsleiders. Ook sporen van menselijke aanwezigheid komen in mijn werk terug. Ik werk met acryl en/of textiel op grof linnen. Het modeltekenen doe ik als oefening in het kijken.
